MasterCard is a big part of the ploy as well (itch.io, steam, Gumroad, OF..) are bending the knee in advance or are part of those other regulations from above.

Called MasterCrad, multiple times for 4 days and it works, one day it just wasn't working after 3 calls, would be on hold and hung up. I filed a complaint that my calls haven't been answered with timestamps. Got a reply 2 days later with apologies. They are overwhelmed.
