Sometimes I am running or milling about doing farm chores listening to an audiobook and have to make audible moans that would probably sound inappropriate to any onlooker because the prose/plot/foreshadowing is so good that I experience a little petit mal. Anyway, that’s happening with this one.

Indigenous refugee activists in Mexico have been occupying this government building, the National Institute for Indigenous Peoples for four years, demanding housing and the documentation they need to work, gain access to services, and live with dignity.

Spotted in Mexico City. My Spanish is lacking, but I think it translates roughly to something like, “the time that you spend on social media, arguing, demanding(?), and commenting … others spend in their lives, producing, creating, and advancing.”

When you are part way through an audiobook and you have to stop because the prose is just too precise, just too delicious. You either have to commit to the constant pause/constant rewind or face the fact that you must go buy the book immediately.
