Labour panicked in their manifesto. They can’t raise taxes and for some reason feel like they can’t do anything that gets close to a customs union. Wealth taxes are tricky to draw up. That kinda leaves them only able to make legal changes since they are free. But they’ve picked the wrong ones

If the US is willing to have a trade deal where expensive rubbish cars get to be medium priced rubbish cars…. If we get export offers that’s a good thing. No one has to buy them!

The good is the green vote
The bad is Reform because they are not of the right. Plenty of labour votes went there so it’s not a simple spectrum

What to do? Address the Reform company but don’t become them?

The already announced inquiry needs to get its skates on. I know a wide thorough review is good but there are some holes in policy or procedures which need sorting right now not in a few years

Fair enough, we already do that but could increase it. You wouldn’t want to tax the factory more but what happens if they leave? Most of their taxable assets are not land so wouldn’t we loose the ability to tax the vast majority of their wealth?

Is there more to the video? The government could do more but I suspect they want to avoid capital flight. They also should encourage the super rich to spend their money here. I don’t understand how it’s so easy when we are effectively competing with nearly every other country thinking the same way
