I’m using Patreon as both a means to sequester myself for four months (Dec-Mar) to focus 100% on writing this photo memoir and as a way to share the process with avid supporters who want to hear my voice.

Those who know me know that I’ve been saying for years now that I want to write a book about my experience backpacking The Colorado Trail. This winter I’m committing to it.

Been learning how to carve wood spoons this past week or so, sharing detailed thoughts about the how and why and whatnot on Patreon but here are some photos of my work so far. 2013. I had taken a dear friend up to Wheeler Peak in NM (13,166')--her first high elevation summit--and we barely made it off the summit before a storm rolled in. We couldn't miss this photo op in front of a double rainbow, though.

Good morning. How ‘bout a video from rural northwest MO? There was a herd of whitetail deer up on the hill when I let the dogs out to potty at 7:20, but I didn’t get the camera out in time to show you. Just imagine a bunch of white tails hopping through those trees and over the top of the bluff.
