I have a letter to my first/birth mother in @therumpus.net for Adoption Awareness Month! This is a dream pub in so many ways; I’m so grateful to be part of this series and I feel so encouraged to keep writing about the messy grief and strange joy of being adopted 🤍 therumpus.net/2024/11/21/t...

i reread Long Live over the summer 💐 every line, i am in awe. forever a favorite.
I wrote a memoir called Long Live the Tribe of Fatherless Girls, a book that is very sad but also (I think) very funny whose most recent Goodreads review claims the content made someone physically sick 🤩 bookshop.org/p/books/long...

hello this memoir is everything to both myself & my therapist
My name is Ashley C. Ford and I wrote Somebody’s Daughter: A Memoir. It’s about growing up as the eldest daughter of a single mother in small-city Indiana, and what happens to the left behind and forgotten families, especially the children, of incarcerated fathers.

To My Third Father - The Rumpus
I didn’t understand consent, the formal severance of me and my biological father. Like magic, my past dissipated.

Hiiiii! I'm so proud to have an essay in @therumpus.bsky.social for adoptee awareness month. With lines from my first CNF writing class three years ago. I still can't believe it.

My essay is about adoption, fathers, names, heritage — it's about choosing myself 🌱
