My comfort movies -
Robin Hood (1973)
Pete's Dragon (1977 & 2016)
Anastasia (1997)
Ready Player One
The Wild Robot
All stories who, against impossible odds, succeed at goals they never knew they had, or even needed.

I was one day shy of 41 when I finally figured out that Longneck in The Wild Robot is Davy Jones in the Pirates movies! I knew his voice, but I couldn't pin it down.

Whenever liberals try to gaslight us Leftists/socialist as being "too pure." Our platform, in the words of Roger Worth, is very small. Human rights. That's it.
Only a sociopath would call this "too narrow."

Seventh-Day Adventism is not a Christian faith. There may very well be Christians in the faith, but they exist despite Adventist teachings, not because of them.

I dropped Pod Save America like a hot potato after Oct. 7, when they refused to call out Biden for his shameless funding of Palestinian genocide.

Those claiming the US Open is banning political speech, including broadcasting "music festival," JUST to appease "Mad King Trump," are false and misleading. I work in events security. Political speech is ALWAYS scrutinized, especially in sports that hold international appeal.

Seventh-Day Adventism is a religious cult, with all the trappings of Christianity to mask their deception. Don't believe me?

A Canadian shared the slogan, "Stronger Together."
Honestly, this is so much better than the false, imperialist line, "Elbows Up!"

Keep in mind, the second Trump Administration has lost what it has in the first, and what it would likely have had in a Harris Administration - plausible deniability.
Let that sink in.

I listened to Heather Cox Richardson last night, and she has the perfect balance of awareness of what is happening, and the dangers, but also a critical reminder everyone needs to keep in mind -
This Administration is weak.

Heather Cox Richardson is such a breath of fresh, calming air. She doesn't downplay what's happening, but articulates it. Most importantly, she keeps us focused on the most critical of facts: this is a regime built on nothing. Such a relief to the panic porn, paternal crap on social media.

So apparently, NOT advocating for a violent overthrow of the government, even a fascist one, is seen as "racist."
You don't want equity, you don't want freedom. You want those you see as the "enemy" gone.

White, "Elbows Up!" Canadians big mad that evil white exploiter, and in some minds, big evil US, attacking their "sovereignty," while ignoring their own ongoing genocide of First Nations is textbook fascist denial.
Signed, an American who hates fascism, as much as the Imperialist division.

Rio is a 2011 family movie about two endangered birds, who must mate to save their species. And it's very funny, and cute in places.
Makes me miss the heck out of Blue Sky Animation.

When you realize the "founder" of "marriage counseling" was an unrepented eugenicist and ally to James Dobson, you understand why most "counselors," especially "faith-based" ones, side with pedophiles, sociopathic narcissist and groomers.

I live in the Pacific Northwest, in an area with a lot of lakes and parks. I have since I was a kid. We get geese all the time. They're mean, territorial, and poop EVERYWHERE. They don't technically "migrate," but they fly around in formation about this time every year.

There are very few people in which I actually celebrate their deaths. In my lifetime, Rush Limbaugh, William F. Buckley, Jr., OJ Simpson, and now, James Dobson.

I was today day's old when I learned Robin Williams was spoofing William F. Buckley Jr. on Aladdin!

Damn, Jamie and Claire are amazing grandparents.

Tell that to the likes of Brian Merchant and other keyboard "socialists."
Adam Smith still gets invoked by the odd "conservative" think tank, pretending that he'd have signed on to their "pro market" policies.

Smith was pro banking regulation, pro firewalls (the pre-Internet kind), and yes, he'd have been pro climate action.

@naomioreskes.bsky.social spot on as usual

The "Church of the resistance" needs more Rev. Bob Massie's and less Pete Buttigieg's.
Because trans rights are human rights!
And Palenstinian rights are human rights!

Watching Jurassic Park with my kids, because that's what you do when your 12-year-old is on a Jurassic kick. Seeing, for the first time, why my mom hated this movie so much. She projected the "dinosaurs" scaring me. Actually, evolution and Dr. Elle Seattle terrifies her.

This week could be the beginning of the end.
Which end, is up to all of us, around the world, standing shoulder to shoulder, to resist the sociopathic "leaders," baying for blood.

Listening to Al-Jazeera's "The Take" this morning - think NYT's "The Daily," minus the neoliberal, colonialist garbage - posted three days prior. This one covered Trump's 50% tariffs on Brazil as a support for his ally, Bolsonaro.
