Finally, we stuck to rigorous and robust techniques to reduce Type I error in our results, including:

⭐ Hierarchical meta-analysis and robust variance estimation

⭐ Article pre-registration with #PROSPERO

Perhaps unsurprisingly, sex and gonadal status were significant moderators of estrogen and progesterone's effects, which with further study may provide insight into how menopausal #HRT, #birthcontrol, and #GAHT may affect stroke outcomes

Key findings:

🧠 Estrogen and progesterone seem to improve outcomes after AIS

🧠 Limited data on testosterone is available, but preliminary analysis suggests lower doses may be more beneficial and higher doses may be harmful

🧠 More research is needed in ICH and SAH!

What an awesome idea!! That is unfortunately not on my normal bike route, but I'll have to swing by there sometime to meet some of the other biking folks in town :) (though I'm only a summer biker haha)
