I promise it will not ruin their career if you are nice to a stranger on the internet rather than offering unsolicited advice when someone is celebrating an accomplishment

I think what you meant to say was "Congratulations on completing the first draft of your manuscript!" Rather than raining all over someone's accomplishments and criticizing them *immediately* when they post something they are proud of, try a little kindness on for size.

Good thing amazing authors like J.R.R. Tolkein, Brandon Sanderson, and G.R.R.Martin didn't have someone like this guy giving them advice. It's way easier to tear someone down and criticize than to build someone up, so ignore Mr. Hutson here. Congrats on your monumentous accomplishment Phil!
