I was fully aware that you would come up with these individual examples - you zoo defenders always do. But a few (!!!) animal species from which captive-bred individuals have been released into the wild (and let's not ask how many of them have survived)

No, they are not. Only an intact natural environment is crucial for the survival of animal species. And since these natural habitats continue to be destroyed, exhibiting animals in zoos serves nothing more than human entertainment and the profit of the operators.
