And last one I think - I still have a couple of reports to run but I’m starting holidays today so they can wait til next year. I did note though that Salisbury East High have had NAP contort growth that was 25% higher than national.

I believe in publicly posting results from every project every year. Sorry it has been a bit delayed this year - there’s been a bit much on.

I like that in WA these squares are 8x8 but in other places in Australia they are usually 6x6. What do they look like where you are?

That was fun thanks!

Actually you can from this. The bottom square can’t be 105 because to add to 23 twice you need the 15 and 5 to be in different sets.

How many little squares? How did you work it out? #iteachmath

Make ten is a really fun, cooperative card game. It is played like go-fish, but open handed. You ask for a card from someone else that would add or subtract with one or more of your own cards to make ten. Awesome for different abilities.

What if we thought of misconceptions a bit like conspiracy theories?

Here’s my new article on what that means, why kids forget, and what to do about it. #iteachmath

What’s the perimeter?
I wrote this for year 8s after teaching Pythagoras. I sketched the kite, then added the line across the middle and said “that’s 12 long”. I drew a circle with 15 in the top triangle and said, “this area is 15”, and repeated with 48 for the bottom. They had a ball! #iteachmath
