Even better; they dammed off part of the canal, *then* dug a hole in that, gave the hole a roof, and re-flooded the section to restore the canal. As seen by these 2020, 2021, and 2024 satellite photos. Oh and looks like they added a few piers

I was 'today' years old when I learned that you can add a 'keyword' to your bookmarks in Mozilla Firefox and it'll act like an alias (as in, you type the keyword in the address bar and it takes you to the bookmark).
