My hunch is it gained popularity as people started imagining faeries as tiny adorable winged beings so a new form of the word was needed to refer to the original stately, more intimidating beings.

It’s hard not to these days. A friend just wrote me that she had a locust fall onto the windshield of her car as she got in. We were like, if life were a movie, that would be foreshadowing, lol.

I’m leaning toward baking brown butter pumpkin bread. A little early for pumpkin but it’s amazing.
