Wait, do we think Trump is trying to recreate Depression era policies because he keeps hearing it was “Great”?
The Trump crowd wants to kill FDIC, install tariffs *and* bring back polio?

I guess all this time the magical past of American Greatness they’ve been aiming for has been the banner year of 1930.

Can’t wait for the soup lines! Wheee!

I've seen a child with tetanus, I've treated near fatal infections after chicken pox, and I've pronounced children dead from COVID whose parents refused to have them vaccinated.

We have lost our minds... and are about to lose so many of our precious children.

There are basically 5 ways to accumulate a billion dollars:

1) Profiting from a monopoly

2) Insider-trading

3) Political payoffs

4) Fraud

5) Inheritance

Don’t believe the self-made myth.

If there were 20 goons with AR-15s slung around their necks at one state capitol when Biden was president it would be the above the fold headline. There were over 1,400 separate protests and millions of people in the streets yesterday. @nytimes.com gave it a tiny square below the fold. Pathetic.

Government excels at stuff we never notice and not noticing is a hallmark of government doing its job. That's why the joke about libertarian cats is so funny.

Yesterday, we sent a historically big message to Trump, Musk, and the GOP — and we also sent a signal to all those who agree with us but have spent the last few months feeling shaken, hopeless, and afraid. #handsoff

Cleveland showed ALL the smoke today—rain pouring, spirits roaring. Hundreds turned up, drenched but defiant, to say loud and clear: #HandsOff our bodies, our books, our ballots.

Not backing down, not backing off.

This is Ohio heat in the cold.

The #HandsOff protest in Culver City is HUGE—multiple thousands here (I heard multiple tens of thousands in the biggest Los Angeles protest, in DTLA). Safe & positive vibes. Cars are beeping in solidarity. Wide demographic but a LOT of older folks and a lot of concern about Medicare/Social Security.

Our town (pop. 50K) in a thoroughly red district still managed to fill both sides of the street in front of the courthouse and our congressman's district office.

Of note: at least half of the crowd was Boomers.

I’ve interviewed a lot of victims stayed in an abusive relationship because they worried their loved ones would judge them for not leaving sooner. They needed support and they knew they would get ridicule instead.

And that’s something I’m thinking about a lot in this political environment.
