And more than anything, I'd love to strengthen the bonds of people looking out for each other.

I'm not a politician...just a guy who loves food.

Hopefully we can build a better community through this.

Wouldn't that be a grand idea to see 7 or 8 houses in a neighborhood take part in something like this every Thursday, and the friendly neighborhood people walk around, try new foods, and get to know each other a little bit better.

We will do our best to have activities for the kids.

My hopes for the future:

I'd LOVE to see this idea take form throughout the neighborhood, the city, anywhere. Does this sound like something you'd want to do? Then do it!

4. Rain or shine, we will do this. But bad weather will minimize space a bit.

5. I'll set the menu a few days in advance and announce it here on Bluesky

6. Please bring friends and family that want community, dialogue, and a fun F&B experience. You don't have to RSVP (but it does help).

2. There won't be available parking in our driveway, but there's plenty of parking across the street and a block away.

3. Bring your chosen beverage of any kind, and maybe seating. We do have some stemware. We also have solo cups. Be comfortable with both.

Details:
1. We will not be accepting money for food. Instead, donate to the Salus Center! We will have a QR code printout placed on the table for you to use. "Founded in 2017, the Salus Center's mission is to build and serve an inclusive 2SLGBTQIA+ community in the greater Lansing area."

So let's not let it get there for us. Let's hang out and eat together!

Anthony Bourdain often talked about food as a unifier. It can be. But he also cited that in times of duress, war, or conflict, that food was doubtful to hold the communication bridge to the needed levels of safety. It could bond problematic spaces, but not irrecoverable spaces.

The billionaires that own and run our new town squares here on the Internet have weaponized our data against us, to divide us further, to distract and ultimately to steal from us. Our community and every community deserves healthier meeting spaces. Spaces that don't need a permit or a license.

Neighbors, family, friends, fellow school parents, long time friends, friends of friends, and friends I don't know I'll have yet.

Our meeting spaces have gone through such volatile fluctuation.

A Thursday Night Cookout: Starting Thursday, March 20. 6-9 p.m. Every Thursday, for as long as we can.

**Why?**

I've been trying to figure out a healthy way to be active in dialogue with people in my life in any way.
