There’s a lot of stuff I like about Red/Blue, and I think its simple-yet-effective story is really underrated! Oh I’ve followed you long enough to know it goes beyond that, you always talk about the story more than anyone else I watch. That one aspect just jumped out to me seeing those two games side by side, maybe I zeroed in on it a bit too much but I think it shows well how we evaluate them differently.

Well I suppose I’m exaggerating a bit, but seeing the two of them next to each other with that in mind amused me a bit tbh.

I meant it in a fully lighthearted way, and I apologize if I wasn’t clear on that with my tone.

I have a lot of nostalgia for Red/Blue and don’t dislike them by any means, but realizing how absurdly weak the NPC opponents are in them even compared to other vanilla Pokémon games definitely made my second playthrough less fun, at least until I beat the league 20 levels below the final boss LMAO
