Is the justice system broken? Absolutely. Is the answer to eliminate one of the (typically meagerly used) safety valves? Absolutely not. If nothing else, we should be pushing for MORE executive clemency, just not corrupt clemency as we see with this dumb Nazi

1 in 10 (if not 1 in 8) people on Death Row nationally is likely innocent based on the exoneration rate. But all were convicted by a jury (except for those who got shit legal counsel and chose a 3-judge panel in states that have that system). But sure, we should just eliminate executive clemency 🙄

I honestly don't understand the idea that being closed off to the rest of the world's best and brightest is somehow a good thing for American students. Just so fucking dumb and short-sighted.
