My runaway Lasombra... Eloise, who I haven't gotten to play much yet.

Eloise Weaver, Lasombra who had spent three years trying to elude the vampire that would eventually sire her, died within a few days of fighting for her life against some thugs such that she has eternally has wounds that are just on the edge of healing. And in disguise so that her hair is stuck a dyed blue. A runaway Lasombra hiding from her sire and the rest of her clan among Anarchs. Tired. Done. And absolutely no patience with terrible people.

So been writing a Jentry Chau/K-Pop Demon Hunter fanfic and one of the side plots is supernatural stuff going public.

Figured @gailsimone.bsky.social would definitely have something for people harassing someone who has an agent to purely regain control of her image

I found this small hairdresser's place in 2012 when I first moved to Fukushima to teach. (I'm back in the States now) It's a hairdresser's shop a bit south of Fukushima train station.

It always has the look of a cursed store-front... the name "Victim" just stood out.

"I have to say," Bobby commented as he met Moonie and Jentry. "When they said they hired another mystic, I wasn't expecting a high-schooler." "Oh, you know about this now?" Jentry asked. "Yeah, I learned not long after you visited," the manager said, looking her over. "So, how did you get involved?" "It's kind of a beggars can't be choosers situation, I think," Jentry said nervously and shrugging. "I wouldn't be my first choice either." "Hey," Moonie said looking around the tower as they walked through the lobby. "This is an impressive place." "It is, yeah," Bobby explained, he gestured. "It's over here, you remember the elevator, right Jentry?" "This one?" Moonie asked as she came up to the keypad, stared at it and tapped a few keys. "Yeah, I'll be right there to let us..." Bobby stopped as the elevator doors popped open. "...in?" "Sorry, old habits," Moonie said, smirking, stepping back. "Won't happen again." "Ah, right," Jentry said, brows showing frustration deep enough to pinch the bridge of her nose without need for her fingers. "Mr. Bobby, let me introduce you to my mom, the retired level 20 rogue." "Please, I've got epic levels," Moonie responded. "Mom, please," Jentry said. "Okay, that's a thing I didn't expect to hear today," the manager said. "Well, let's get you up to the girls." The elevator started up and after a few moments, Jentry turned to look at where her mother was mouthing off numbers and tapping her fingers regularly against her side. She looked up with wide eyes into Moonie's eyes and darted her eyes back down to the hand and back up. Moonie, nodded, mouthing "oh right" and lifted her fingers up to her handbag strap and keep her fingers still while biting her lip. There was a few seconds more up several stories. "You're still casing the place, aren't you?" Jentry asked in Chinese. "Can't really turn it off, Jentry, sorry," she responded honestly. Jentry nodded and sighed, then the door opened.

Stella touched up her make up and then stepped back to take a look at herself. She was wearing a knee-length brown denim skirt with yellow and orange stitching and a sunrise orange blouse. She wore a pair of orange boots styled as cowboy boots, but with flat heels for comfortable walking. "Okay, okay... looks good," she said, then thought about it. "I may need to diversify my outfits a bit. This is basically just my normal orange shirt and blue jeans with the drama slider set up to max." She reached up to her braids and slowly undid one. "Braids... or loose?" Thick white line with the words "SKIP SOME" on either side indicating the next part is after some skipped text. A fifteen minute talk later, an exasperated Stella was standing up as her mother left the room. She had to admit that her hair looked good, hanging mostly loose with a braided cord over each ear met each other the back of her head and laid back down over the rest of her loose hair. Tokki was still wearing the coat, but the hood was down, revealing that so was her hair, in a layered effect that had her red hair framing her face and cascading down her back like silk curtains. Stella thought she may have been used a straightener, but she'd never seen Tokki's hair down, so it might just be that thick and straight. The coat was open, framing a sleeveless green dress with a choker-style collar with a wide, silver belt around her waist. The dress itself continued down to just above the ankles that were covered by high black socks. She was wearing a pair of heels, not particularly high, but definitely with a bit of elevation. To be perfectly honest, they were teenagers that still had a lot of growing to do, both physically and emotionally. They were cute, adorable even, with a look much closer to prom than bowling night, but still perfectly reasonable first date looks. The kind of look that if someone looked at a picture would say "well, it's a good look". But Stella and Tokki were both teenagers currently in a state of heightened emotions and each building this up way past objective reality. So to each other, they were the epitome of glamour and beauty.

"And now, we'd like to welcome to the show Huntrix!" Zoey came out first, followed by Mira and then Rumi. Each of them having a longer skirt than the first one, starting with a brilliant blue miniskirt for Zoey, a knee-length scarlet split skirt for Mira, and then a flowing ankle-length royal purple. There blouses were mostly a matching color to their skirts save for the presence of a white triangle with a yellow heart in the middle. The triangle and heart was on Zoey's right-shoulder and arm, across both shoulders on Mira with the heart on her chest, and finally Rumi was the only one not sporting sleeves, and the triangle and heart covered most of the left-side of her blouse, front and black. "Thank you for having us!" Rumi said smiling as she sat next to Mira. Leaning over she whispered to keep the mic from picking up. "This was very not subtle." "It isn't meant to be," Mira responded. "Oh, wow the social media," Zoey added as she suppressed a giggle. And then all three turned their attention to the interview. One of the polyamory flag designs with stripes in blue, pink/red, and purple with a large white triangle on the left hand side and a yellow heart in the center of the triangle. The purple stripe is the longest as only the very top of it is cut off by the white triangle.

Terminal Book: This story never ends and is almost impossible to put down. It’s also a thoroughly disappointing read, as if it can sense your preferences, build on them, and then twist them in the least enjoyable way possible. Readers can’t escape and may die reading it. If a hunter starts reading the book and tries to stop, roll +Cool. • On a 10+, you put the book down and realise what’s happened. • On a 7–9, you choose one: realise what’s happening and ask for help, or put the book down without noticing anything is wrong. • On a miss, “This is such a train wreck, I’ve gotta keep reading.” Stress Ball: This ball absorbs the stress and anxiety of the person squeez- ing it, clearing all negative emotions instantly. When it fills up, the next person to use it experiences all that stored stress and anxiety at once. Bystanders are totally incapacitated. Hunters must act under pressure or suffer the consequences of all that stress. • On a 10+, you weather the shock but get –1 forward. • On a 7–9, you suffer a severe anxiety attack. Either suffer 1-harm ignoring armour, or take –1 ongoing until you have a chance to relax normally. • On a miss, you suffer a heart attack, taking 3-harm ignoring armour.

I have some art, not all art, from past projects.
Art by Arcos' Art... who I have no idea where to find these days. The largest single piece I had done for the Divine Blood setting which started as a massive cross-over fanfic centered around Ranma 1/2, Oh My Goddess, and Full Metal Panic!. The title is "Worlds are Immaterial" and is meant to show a concept in the setting where everyone's world is defined by their perceptions and attitudes. So it starts with the "sheltered world" of civilians both supernatural and mundane... a harpy-like woman on a date with a man, a man with red facial marks (indicating he's a demon) ordering from a waitress, at the bottom are three girls in school uniforms with one noting the signs that she's actually not human and one with blue facial marks (indicating she's a god), and the third seems perfectly human, is wearing a large knife behind her back leading on to.... ...the "walled world" of guardians trying to protect the civies (central are a heroic demon with a red aura, a god with a blue aura, and a human with a green aura) there's also a scene of a man buying weapons from a car trunk which leads on to... ...the "ragged world" where violence is an everyday occurrence showing a vicious angelic goddess, a smooth brown-suited human mercenary, a violent "Van Helsing" about to stake a civie vampyr mistaking her for a true-undead, an unethical human scientist, and a cult centered around a demonic criminal... and all this leads on to... ... the world at war where a mechaa demon and some soldiers battle against pyschics and tanks in the background. And at the far right is a scene of a warehouse presenting gear accumulated in preparation. Along with a green-crystal, a scaly cat-like thing, and a blue tree... the most advanced psychic tools made by humans (ritual talisman), demons (companion familiar), and rune tree (gods) things most people don't realize are sapient themselves. Lucretia in an outfit that blends elements of old-timey black and white stripes and modern orange jumpsuits with a simple cap on her forehead. She's wearing skin-tight black latex under the clothes because as much as she likes looking sexy, she doesn't like showing skin. She wore this her first meeting with her Parole officer. The title Bystander is above the picture and it seems to be in a court room. A woman with golden eyes and skin with scarlet snake-like lower body. She's got pieces of armor around her upper torso and a broken shard of a sword she's using a s dagger. She's fighting an alligator in the waters of a heavily forested lake.

This is more about styles of magic

I was borrowing from Scion 2e TTRPG, which itself uses folklore styles of magic more than D&D/comic style magic

ie: the "Shapeshifting" technique involves sending out your soul in the shape of animals rather changing your body.
In that moment, the wolf burst apart into a mass of rubbery tentacles with a great bulbous head and expressionless eyes. Willow was slow to dodge and found herself thrown across the room slamming into the wall. “That form’s too easy!” Willow shouted as she thrust out her hand in a grasping shape The massive octopus started to flail as it struggled to breathe through Willow’s spell. Behind her, Dr. Rivers helped Quartz up and something erupted out of the dirt. An old hand, withered, dried out, followed by a skull with only memories of attached flesh and empty eyelids bursting out of the wall. The first skeleton was followed by another and then another. With her other hand, she turned to face the creatures, recognizing a familiar technique. Her master had been a summoner who had once raised the victims of a monster to overwhelm it. She half expected to find the same thing here and meant to call for them to realize they were not the enemy. But there was only a hollow animating voice behind those bones. A mockery of the risen dead. Puppets to a master, hastily fashioned and easily bound, but it gave her enemy time. The octopus melted into a bear which put its newly gained breath into a roar as it charged toward her. Gunshots cracked through the scene and the bear flinched before twisting into a serpent that coiled out of the way of the bullets and bit down into Willow’s shoulder, its spirit fangs pushing into the blessed robes. Willow gestured to crush the jaws closed again but the coils of the serpent twisted around her and tightening ever more. Willow grimaced and twisted her hand to reduce the skeletons to dust as she tumbled back against the cave wall. The dirt collapsed around her followed shortly by a flood of cold water sending her and the serpent tumbling down into another passageway out of sight of the others.

The tail end of a ritual with both the physical reality and a conceptual space. The conceptual space moves a bit slower, but the physical space doesn't stop... and she's drowning.
A third shackle fell to her north. To join the third and a great pond sat around the central tree right alongside the flowing river. Not quite stagnant, but not swift, perfect for the sheltering of the spiders and the insects they fed on but not appealing to most fish or other predators. As she looked drops of dew held on the tree-bourne webs, offering tantalizing draws in to potential prey. Almost done. There needed to be a fourth. The last season. The last direction. Something to complete the circle. And it had to be quick. Her thoughts immediately turned to the Earth to fill in the bits of black void not covered by web, wood, and water. But it was too distant, but physically and metaphorically. She was being held up away from it, unable to touch it and there was no way for her to end this vision to find it without failing the spell. Fire was also impossible, the candles around her with her many eyes were a mental construct, but there was no fire in the beginning or the end of this cycle. Her candles and incense were far away from her or else drowned in the water within her robes. She had nothing to grasp hold of to help her fashion fire down into a true concept on this vision. Air. Air to carry the rains and to carry the young spiderlings out across the countryside. But no, there was precious little of it. Already her physical breaths were coming in labored and the scant air above the water was growing weaker and then it was gone entirely. She was too late. She would have needed to start with air to use it, but there had been no hook for it in the start so that was impossible. Asking for rescue by the freed entity was impossible if she was dead and the shackles would all return. She could only hold her breath so long. Then she’d drown in the waters. There was nothing to grab hold of around her. There was no fourth anchor. She was going to die. The others would die when the cult here sacrificed them. She straightened her thoughts and pushed out the doubt. There had to be something here. Something she could touch and which was part of this entire… The phantom women were staring at her. She turned in place to match that stare. There was something. A compromise. Her eyes, all of them, closed and her spiritual posture straightened, ignoring the pain as her body tried to match it. She steadied herself, resisting the urge to breathe and start her drowning. When her eyes opened, she started to speak and form the fourth anchor. Within the dark waters, bubbles lifted up from her mouth under points of gleaming white-blue light. First two, then four, then six, and then eight. At the end of her held breath, the fourth shackle clattered to the void to her west.

In Web, Wood, and Water, Willow has the following ritual robes:
Stepping aside, she carefully pulled her ritual robes out of their box and checked them over. The silk had been collected at the winter solstice, discarded by moths and then dyed a deep cerulean drawn from the crushed petals of the mist lilies that grew near the temple her cult called home. The lower piece was designed with rather more robust cotton, but dyed the same color. The seams were formed from a pure silvery moth-silk. She pulled on wool socks before stepping into tight sandalwood slippers. Then she kneeled in the center of the square facing the pen and paper in the west.
