Trump didn’t like the numbers, so he fired the Bureau of Labor Statistics commissioner. For any normal president, that would be a big scandal. For him, it distracts from the Trump–Epstein scandal, which has only worsened since Trump revealed he was angry at Epstein for poaching girls from his spa. 😳

My message to the president: Pam Bondi informed you months ago that you are in the Epstein files, and you wrote a birthday card to Epstein that is consistent with your many other poorly drawn sketches and appears to have confirmed that you were in on the "secret" of rape and child trafficking.

This guts judicial review, a cornerstone of U.S. democracy. Courts are the only check on executive overreach. This section erases that check for some of the most destructive decisions the government can make. @altnps.bsky.social #scotus #gopbudget #savedemocracy

The framers of the Constitution thought Congress was the most important branch of government, which is why it’s Article I and is much longer than the articles for the other 2 branches. Members of Congress should not tolerate the violation of laws, impoundment of funds, and dissolution of …

Trump has unleashed the biggest federal brain drain this century with Musk and “DOGE.” It’s a national humiliation and is already leading to disasters.

This is good news. The prior Daytona Beach city commission district boundaries were gerrymandered by the commission to protect the incumbent members.
Thank you for the hard work of the @aclufl.bsky.social and our Chair Nick Sakhnovsky
VICTORY! Following our lawsuit, the Daytona Beach City Commission repealed a redistricting map that blatantly violated state law by using incumbents’ home addresses to redraw district lines.

Thoughts for January 20, 2025

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said “the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” But, it doesn’t bend toward justice on its own. We have to use the right levers, persuade the people, and keep bending the arc toward justice on our own. (1/7)
