Not commenting on whether it's good for society or the environment or anything - it probably isn't. We've frozen hiring because of AI, and that sucks. But I do think that it is revolutionizing how we work. I don't see this stuff ever going away now that we have it.

AI has changed everything about my job in the last 6 months. Coding workflow is unrecognizable from before and probably 5x faster. I dictate thoughts into LLMs and have them summarize points back. We use it for data analysis, proof reading, retrospectives on projects, prototyping, debugging...

I was going to go on a road trip with friends down there this summer, we're cancelling and we'll do something in Canada instead. With everything going on right now, spending money there? I love my American friends, but sorry, no way.
