The NYT has a story that while Zohran Mamdani is warmly appreciated by his Astoria constituents Mamdani will receive a colder reception from residents near Gracie Mansion who voted for Cuomo.

I replied that Mamdani’s reception by the NYT editors will be so cold he will need to keep his parka on.

There is a devastating report in the NYT this afternoon that one the US-destroyed fishing boats washed ashore in Columbia and contained only evidence of marijuana.

Trump’s claim that he is saving the US from fentanyl smuggling by Venezuela is a disprovable lie.

One can assume that the drone and missile factories have expanded and are running 24/7, with first priority on needed resources. Other factories will have to be content with meager seconds.

Trump is going to run out of countries to bomb long before the DOJ is going to run out of Epstein files to redact and release.
December 26, 2025 at 3:47 AM
Trump says that the 2003 lewd b-card that he sent to Epstein with his smutty signature is fake. The provenance of that drawing in a book compiled at the time by Maxwell and handwriting analysis of the signature refutes Trump’s denial.

Handwriting analysis of the longer Nassar letter should be easy.

The DOJ has just announced there are one million new files in the Epstein case (not a joke). So after months of controversy to get the files released, and five weeks of after a law to release them is enacted, the DOJ says there is an order of magnitude new files.

Laugh. Test. Failed. Miserably.
December 24, 2025 at 10:25 PM
I am so old I remember when Trump declared his obscene birthday card to Epstein in 2003 to be a fake.

I do marvel how people in 2025 can travel back in time to create these fakes to embarrass Trump. It’s not as if he ever said that he would grab young women by …

Oh wait, he did boast about that.

If you have any free time over the holidays, the DOJ is looking for help.

Quick, raise your hand to volunteer to take part in activities violating the law. Florida men preferred.

Congrats governor. The Supreme Court has just decided 6-3 that Trump is not allowed to send the NG to Chicago. He demonstrated no justification to do that.

Alito, Thomas, and Gorsuch dissented.

The chief correspondent on the 60 Minutes report Sharyn Alfonsi states that the report went through many levels of review before being approved for airing. She says that Weiss’s decision was purely political.

Weiss wants Noem on air to lie on Trump’s behalf.

NYT: Trump shatters norms.

They print that with an undertone of admiration. Trump’s shattering norms (or even breaking the law) makes for good copy, which generates clicks, which generates revenue.

I have read that there are no photos of Donald Trump in the set of files just released by Trump loyalist Bondi.

Will David Brooks complain in his next NYT column? After all, Brooks partied with only one registered sex offender only one time. Trump easily did more than that in a fortnight.

Is RFK Jr going to piss on his uncle’s memory by taking Trump’s side on this issue? Personally I don’t think that he has the spine to criticize Trump.

Maria Shriver and Joseph P. Kennedy III have already denounced the appropriation of JFK’s name by Trump.
December 18, 2025 at 11:17 PM
The NYT is defending Brooks by saying that he met Epstein only once at a ‘widely attended’ dinner when photographed in 2011.

Nonetheless, every time Brooks had a column criticizing the drive to release Epstein files he should have footnoted a full disclosure statement that he was in the files.

There had been speculation that Kash Patel would be ousted by December 15, replaced by the other deputy director appointed on September 15, Andrew Bailey.

However, with the Brown shooter still at large, firing Patel now would be bad optics for the FBI emphasizing its person of interest snafu.

Trump and the cabinet are strongly supporting Wiles. There’s an attempt to label the Vanity Fair pieces as fake news. But VF’s author has recordings of the 11(!) interviews.

I surmise that old pro Wiles has compromat on Trump; he can’t fire her. Instead she wants things done her way going forward.

Perhaps the city health commissioner sneaked it passed Adams, or he doesn’t care about Trump anymore. Why should he.
