There’s definitely a large commuter aspect but there’s also the problem that the mass transit isn’t great—the lines don’t cover much of the city and they haven’t been well maintained (or they randomly catch fire). So then people have to drive… and they’re called Massholes for a reason. 😂

Boston. Chaos like you described but people who have driven here for years and just don’t seem to give a fuck anymore PLUS a very old city that was never gridded and makes zero sense.

I was once asked by HR what the company could do to improve morale (this was many years ago) and first thing out of my mouth was “At this point I think it’s tiki bar or bust.”

Of course it’s in Boca.

That is true—I did end up staying in a hotel next to Narita because I landed late and didn’t want to take a taxi (honestly because I didn’t trust my sleep deprived self to do anything other than find a bed at that point in 20+ hours of plane travel).

I can kind of understand if people are bringing a lot of luggage, but even with two smallish bags, navigating the airport to the NEX was WAAAAAY easier than trying to get a taxi (never mind the awkward silence because my conversational Japanese is Not Good yet).
