WaPo dehumanising, misrepresenting: you don't actually want to "stop the tens of thousands of illegal asylum seekers crossing the English Channel" since there's no such thing as an illegal asylum seeker. Rather "stop the tens of thousands of asylum seekers illegally crossing the English Channel".
The answer to this growing problem? Institute a wealth tax. To lower household bills: nationalize water companies. The hot-button topic of migration? Like the rest of the British political spectrum he wants to stop the tens of thousands of illegal asylum seekers crossing the English Channel every year, but advocates doing it with safe legal asylum routes instead of the military.

"Reasonable suspicion" is grounds for arrest. "May arouse reasonable suspicion" is weaker even than that, and certainly is not grounds for arrest. Neither of these is an offence.

The spokesperson doesn't know the law.
A Kent police spokesperson said: “Under the Terrorism Act it is a criminal offence to carry or display items that may arouse reasonable suspicion that an individual is a member or supporter of a proscribed organisation such as Palestine Action.” 12 Support. (1) A person commits an offence if— (a) he invites support for a proscribed organisation, and (b) the support is not, or is not restricted to, the provision of money or other property (within the meaning of section 15). (1A) A person commits an offence if the person— (a) expresses an opinion or belief that is supportive of a proscribed organisation, and (b) in doing so is reckless as to whether a person to whom the expression is directed will be encouraged to support a proscribed organisation.

Kent police's spokesman made a claim about the law that shows quite clearly he doesn't know it. Doing something which merely "arouses reasonable suspicion" (even supposing suspicion is reasonable here, which it plainly isn't) isn't an offence.
