In fact a good way to practice would just be to follow along in a book while you enjoy an audio book, I remember doing that often in school, except back then it was on cassette tapes 😂

Audio books are absolutely still reading! Our species passed down oral myths and stories long before we ever developed writing. And you're right, reading is a skill that's easier for kids to learn but that doesn't mean adults can't learn too!

I used to only really use TikTok and fb, sometimes some reddit, now I'm on here, discord, substacks, and xiohungshu. Not putting all my eggs in one basket anymore. I've been slowly trying to build a sense of community on each one in case I lose one. Gonna have to learn how to use a vpn probably too

I recently reread the series and it is definitely written for a younger audience. The writing is more simplistic than things I read now but the story itself is so good. I think I'd probably recommend these books for the 13-16 crowd
