7 is one of the only ones I haven’t played yet, so it’ll be a whole new experience for me!

It’s actually been about a week since I beat it, yet I still miss it even now. I’m left with a Dragon Quest shaped indentation in my soul. This was a really special game!

Dragon Quest II HD-2D Remake

This is one of the greatest video game remakes of all time. There is so much new content, it’s basically a new game. There is so much depth, character, and lore, all recontextualized into an incredible, epic finale for the Erdrick Trilogy. This is the good stuff.

What are the odds that you‘d post this just as I reached this fight in my series rewatch? It was so good and a great reminder of why Rock Lee was always my favorite character.
The Hinata and Neji fight just before it was pretty good too.

I finished DQII just this morning!

Surprised Final, Fantasy, and IX aren’t higher considering it’s what I wish for before every Direct, State of Play, etc.

The resemblance is uncanny

Oh wow, I definitely recommend trying out one of the older versions of DQII, both to see just how different it is, and also because it’s a really good game too. The older DQII was such a fun, fast-paced, open world romp. I played the whole game in two sittings, ‘cause I just couldn’t put it down!

I just made it past the mermaid section and collected all the Sigils. Looks like I still have quite a bit of game to go! It’s amazing just how much new stuff there is. A lot of the time, it really does feel like I’m playing a brand new game.

Dragon Quest HD-2D Remake

This is how thou doest a remake. They somehow took one of the oldest, most simplistic JRPGs and made it feel fresh and new. More story, more characters, more bosses, more Dragon Quest goodness. And it’s all insanely good! It’s like half a remake, half an all new game.

Luigi’s Mansion

I replayed this on NSO for Halloween. This is such a special game that I should’ve appreciated more when I was younger. It‘s brimming with atmosphere and feels very evocative of the first Resident Evil. The ending cutscene is still one of my favorite gaming moments ever.

Hero of Law

The Ace Attorney themed Ocarina of Time romhack I never knew I wanted. It’s fairly short and maybe not as amazing as the concept would imply, but it’s still a must-play for fans of both series nonetheless. Very impressive on a technical level with great animations and new music.

My list of dream game announcements that I’ll never see happen is infinitely vast and just as depressing.
