Ubisoft milked their formula *so* dry, so empty that they somehow managed to retroactively ruin people's nostalgia. The mechanics evolved *so little* that people were bored to tears by what used to be one of their favourite games

Anyway, I'm sure Assassin's Creed Shadows will reverse all of that 🙂

The games were pretty much what they remembered: there were no great forgotten flaws or major modern conveniences missing, so the games should have held up fairly well, right?

Turns out: the games were too familiar. Games they hadn't touched in over a decade still embedded in their muscle memory
