business planning (read: brain dumping) to the sounds of nujabes and clickclacking of my mech keyboard, while surrounded by books. life is really good.

I am back for a hot minute to yell about KPop Demon Hunters on Netflix! Incredible animation, catchy songs, and immensely likeable characters. The ending was rushed a little but that just gives more opportunities for a sequel to close the open story threads. I am definitely stanning the Saja Boys!!

My nerdy (?) recommendation at the library today. The last chapter of this little book had a big impact on my writing style for sure!

-vibrating- it's happening! My escape game in a speakeasy! It's a nice and gentle game (estimated 20-30mins) for beginners or casual players to be played over drinks; hope people have fun!

A huge & overwhelmed thank you to @exeunt.press for sending these zines for the community library from halfway across the world! The support is so so appreciated. The 1-page version of Eleventh Beast remains to me as the epitome of elegant 1-page design, so pls have a look if you don't know it yet!

I started my curation at the library last weekend! I'm still waiting for a few more games to arrive to me before I update the shelf at one go with more new books, but here's what I have for now! If you're interested, I can share a little more of the other shelves next time!

One of the shelves of the community library I volunteer at has a book of wordsearch puzzles for patrons to solve. I wanted to do one because I love word search puzzles; and immediately sat down to work on this Cthulhu one once I found it!

Happy new year, friends! To kick off the new year, I did a volunteer shift at a community library today, and also borrowed this book...

Have a good 2025!

I'm mentoring some very young interns at Thorn & Key. They've expressed some interest in escape games and puzzles, so as part of their month-long internship, they're working on some small puzzles that I'm featuring in this little activity over the next 2 weeks! They'll be posted on my Instagram!

Had the time to watch the Mononoke film finally and was blown away as usual. We often think about psychological horror visuals as dark, or maybe in desaturated colour, but for the genre to be presented successfully in bright, almost explosive colour is so breathtaking and innovative.

It's made with a shimmery gold cloth, so yes, VERY fashion, prettiest sandworm of the desert for sure. It also extends up and down pretty long, it's so good. I wish I could share videos here.

My friend made a sandworm costume in a week for Singapore Comic Con and it is genuinely the best thing I've seen all year.

Work in progress. Convenient blank wall right in front of me to stare at while trying to write this proposal. Keyboard is Cidoo ABM066 Alice with Womier keycaps.

The cover of Wisteria Hall was created using only one royalty-free photo and text elements. The photo was chopped up, blurred in parts and desaturated a little to provide contrast for the title. Then the Japanese text in exclusion mode (I think!) for some accents. 100% free and fairly evocative!

Not enough people today have noticed my skirt is Cthulhu print.

(I purposefully walked over to the Call of Cthulhu table to show it off though.)

Booth set up at Hidden Agenda, an event celebrating escape games, ttrpgs, tcgs and other geeky hobbies! I'm set up in the Alt RPG Club studio, basically a studio that specialises in systems that aren't the dragons one!

She was tiny and sassy. She mellowed out a little in her later years but was demanding of her owners' attention even when there was a total stranger (me) in her house. 😆 how dare we go into the study to chat?! Without her??

Run free, Kiki. I hope you have all the crunchy treats you desire now.

A beloved sweetheart has gone over the big rainbow in the sky. Kiara belonged to a friend who not-so-jokingly called me Kiki's #1 Fan for the past 10 yrs. I met Kiara in person for the 1st time in Oct this year, something i never thought possible. I was thrilled! Kiki was 16, and very well loved. 🐈❤️‍🩹

I'm late on this dedicated event reel as the event is this weekend, but I finally got it settled! I'm presenting an escape room at SG Writers Fest.

In a coastal town beset by pirates, you seek shelter in an old shrine. Little do you know, its inhabitants need your aid before they will help you.

Blessed by beautiful weather today and miraculously saw the Golden Gate Bridge in all its glory (I.e. not covered by Karl the Fog).

My local friends were very amazed; me; "well, it looks just like it does in pictures online."

So @timhutchings.bsky.social left this note on the inside cover of my copy of A Collection of Improving Exercises, and now I'm unsure if I should take it seriously and start puzzling at it, or if he's yanking my (our) chain...

Went a bit overboard at the BigBadCon merchants! The @pelgranepress.bsky.social hardbacks were on liquidation, and picked up the @timhutchings.bsky.social games as I've wanted a physical copy of TYOV for so long! I've been eyeing @cassi.mothwin.com Tangled Blessings too! Luggage limit? What's that?

Genuinely looking forward to Big Bad Con, but also nervous about playing new systems with new people. 😬

Also, a little toot! 📯 On Sat 2-6pm, I'll be doing Small Press Showcase with some original zine games and some pins! Happy to demo anything that catches your fancy too :)
