I'm withholding judgement on Chuck Schumer because I don't fully understand his argument for voting for the CR. From what I have heard, he is afraid that shutting down the government is exactly what Trump and Musk want. They will use the shutdown to argue that Congress can't get anything done.

If you join a protest against Trump and his corrupt administration, Do Not Get Baited Into Violence!

Trump wants an excuse to use US troops against his detractors. Please don't give him an excuse.

Protest Safely!

When I was 20 years old, I thought I was a super programmer. I was pretty good for a self-taught 20 year-old. But the most important lessons are taught by decades of coding. The damage that Musk's team may have done will take years to fix.

At 3am when it's cold, the fire has gone out, and the wolves are circling, it can be very hard to believe the sun will return, but it does. Help each other until dawn comes and we can see our way forward again.

Fight, fight, against the death of our democracy. Do not go gentle into that kleptocracy.

Tonight and every night at 6 pm, go outside and scream if you are outraged at what is being done to our country. Scream in honor of those who fell on Jan 6. Scream for the loss of our democracy.

Please repost if you agree. Add your reasons in the comments.

I fear that we'll learn all the wrong lessons from MAGA. We don't need to become their mirror image. We need to organize and welcome the millions who will become disillusioned.
Let's all commit the "sin" of empathy.

Come Monday, reality is going to hit hard if Trump continues down the trade war path. China, Mexico, and Canada are our biggest trading partners. We are going to need to help those who are about to lose their jobs. We are better than MAGA.

Once again the GOP had to be rescued from their own folly and that of their co-presidents by Democrats to keep the government from shutting down.

I'm pretty sure no one voted for Musk in November.

Because our DoJ was too scared to put Trump in jail, we are faced with a president-elect that cannot serve as president. The 14th amendment bars insurrectionists from any public office. Will we cave on that, too?

It won't be enough to survive Trump or even to block him. If we want to protect ourselves from future fascists, we need to make taking care of everyone our top priority. No more special privileges for the wealthy.

Insurance companies save money by delaying the refills of your medication. If they can delay all expensive prescriptions by a day, they can earn interest on that money. Are they doing this on purpose? What do you think?

I want an amendment to the Constitution that says donations to a candidate can only be made by people eligible to vote in the race. Half of all donations will be used to ensure that all candidates get the same amount of money to use on their campaign. Unspent funds are returned to the government.

Apparently, I can't comment on the responses made to my comment that everyone is allowed to peacefully protest. I'm guessing someone got offended by it.

Protests might inconvenience us, but the right to protest is essential for a democracy to function.

I am autistic, although not formally diagnosed. I learned this about three years ago at the tender age of 60. It was a huge relief.

I now know why I have problems connecting with people and why I act out in the ways I do. It's not all personal failure. 1/

I'm not quite sure what to do with followers that aren't bots pretending to be hot young women who find me irresistible. 🤣

I will try to write things worth reading.

I would like Harris and Walz to keep talking to voters, even if they don't run again. We need recognizable faces explaining what the progressives want to do. We also need lots more young people talking about why it's important to vote.

Our loss in this last election was due to communication. Fox and other propaganda outlets simply reach more people. Fox lies, they lost nearly 800 million because of lies they told about non-existent vote tampering.

If we want to win, we have to reach people. Period.
