Just saw Paddington (2014), which lots of people have said is an exceptionally good family movie. Sorry, I liked Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile better. I think that's the American equivalent.

Reading Roald Dahl's _The BFG_. It's silly! But it's something more. A girl is kidnapped by a friendly, squiddle-brained giant who explains all sorts of counterintuitive truths about how the world and giants work, and she has to kind of choose whether to accept them or not. Feels strange!

I finished watching Beastars last night. The third season was billed as the "Final Season," but felt very little like a series finale. And Netflix informs me more episodes are coming next year. Overall, it's a show that makes me yell at the screen... looks like I'll be doing more of that.

I failed at my goal week, which was themed about returning to past projects. No obvious mistake or timesink, just... wasn't assiduous enough, or bit off too much. With 22 hours left, I had about 19 hours of work, best case, and had to sleep. Rested up, feeling okay!

In Minnesota, fall often seems to last for exactly the month of October. This year, we have summer in October, though it was autumnal for a while earlier. Some people are tired of summer, but I don't mind; I imagine the leaves will still take about a month falling, whenever they start.

Bussed to Walmart today and walked home while imagining a cross-over fictional game show. Six miles, half a long walk I took years ago... and free produce from a yard box offering such along the way!

Doing a new goal week; drafted a strip of a potential silly webcomic. Funny how there's a lot going on in my life, to me, but so little that seems worth telling the public about1

I've created the first draft of the first strip of a terrible stick figure webcomic. Well, hopefully it will only look terrible if I carry through with it. The text makes me laugh and I learned I can have fun with the art, posing characters. I do need something better than Paint, though. :)

I need to find if there's anyone here I know! I think I'll go through my Facebook friends and search for them until I find fifteen people who aren't on Bluesky or two who are. Seems sensible.

Eventually, it would be nice for me to post useful content! So for my 1st entry in that category, I'll mention a YouTube content creator who's awesome but whom I just discovered a week ago: The Stupendium. @thestupendium.bsky.social A versatile musician/video maker with stupendous lyrical abilities.

I wonder how people socialize on Bluesky. A good start would be if I knew people already on here, perhaps from Facebook... I could be methodical about searching for them, I suppose! But there must be good ways to meet new people, too. Maybe I'll reply to some stuff that piques my interest.

Today I learned that 'spur' and 'spurious' are not related words, despite seeming very much like they ought to be, since a spurious branch of a family is one that sticks out without authority. But... 'spur' is Germanic and 'spurious' is Latinate!

Is this too trivial to post about? :)

I'm doing a goal week themed about being more social than usual. Which is tricky for someone as introverted as I am! Hmm, I wonder if I should post something political.
...nope, doesn't seem prudent, even though I have an opinion. Gonna go to a writer's group in an hour though!

What's up, I'm asked! The answer, right now, is that I'm making my first ever post on Bluesky! Will it be a satisfying platform to use? Will it put me in touch with the literati or the hoopy froods? It's yet to be seen. But I am planning to make a post here each day from today through the 18th.
