Don't repeat misinfo on Palisades fire regarding Getty Villa Museum. Get it right during disasters, we’re already scared & worried. Reporting while standing at Museum entrance on PCH, w/ mansion on the hill above it --swathed in flames-- gives impression bldg in background is the Getty. It’s not.

Former conservator, independent researcher on gem minerals used in ancient glyptic. Subject areas: gemological ident. & geographic origin, transmission/trade, anc. treatments. On these topics, primary sources in translation are important refs but problematic, so they require critical reading.
