Teacher, educator, and life-long learner. Sports nut (Jets, Bombers, Vikings, Liverpool FC). 5-Pin bowler, coach, and administrator.
It's a brave new curling world when Turkey and the Philippines are threatening to qualify for the Olympics.

And the US is in serious danger of missing out entirely.

It just shows the power of the 5 Rings in spurring sport development.

Just thinking out loud, but if you're Einarson, do you throw the game Wednesday?

You already know you're going to have to beat Homan twice to get to Cortina. If you win on Wednesday, you now need to win 3 of 4 to get the trip. That's a tall task, even if Team Homan has looked human at times.

Such sad news, and I'm so sorry for your immense loss. And the loss that all curling fans are feeling.

But, Colleen would definitely want you to be back at the rink this afternoon, and for the rest of this important week.

Just when you think this story can't get any worse, we find that it in fact could.

Except after the three minute warning in the 4th quarter, where a kickoff must take place.

Who would have thought that the Grey Cup next week in Winnipeg will have far better weather than the CPL Final tonight in Ottawa?

What an awful, awful way to lose your chance to win the game.

The spite is going to be working for me. I'm allergic to cheering for Saskatchewan, and "BC Sucks" is thoroughly ingrained in me from the 1980's.

So, I guess I'm going to be cheering for the East Champion. And that's just wrong on so many levels.

I was always skeptical about Grey Cup as an event, but going to Regina in 2022 convinced me that it's a great weekend. The guys that I share tickets with are constantly talking about travelling to the Grey Cup again. They went to BC last year, but I couldn't.

This is the part that I don't get. I'm a Bomber season ticket holder and committed to a 3-year season ticket package to get a discount on my Grey Cup ticket ($299 instead of $399).

It's a big event. I want to attend. I don't understand other STH dumping tickets.

I don't want to stereotype, but likely because 70% of their readers wouldn't be literate enough or thoughtful enough to appreciate it.

As a result, you get lowest common denominator, paint-by-numbers reporting.

Did the same thing in 2022. Went with the other two guys that I have Bomber season tickets with. But, we crashed at my aunt's place in southern Regina.

Probably be an improvement on the current POS filling the role.

I figured they had a punchers chance in this, but they had to get off to a good start in the series. Game 1 fit the bill.

Trust me, I have no use for any increase to the amount of money in politics. Those changes are reprehensible.

I'll accept incompatible might be a stretch, but it's always been the risk/reward decision for the party in power to pull the trigger.

The money stuff is far more troubling to me. I've always been a big fan of per-vote subsidies and draconianly low personal contribution limits.
