I'm almost old enough to retire, but I'd rather not - I feel like I'm starting a whole new chapter.
Started another small painting. Glasses for reference - his nipples really stick out lol . Oil on wood panel, 5.75" square, not finished.

The grid method is great, I'm just not sure it's 100% fitting for graphite sketches. If somebody knows a trick, like which kind of pencil to use, I'd love to hear it.

I spent my lunch half-hour gridding this out. Almost-6" square wood panel, next step, oil paint. Stay tuned.

Part two of "family portrait update" and mum looks a bit "wrong" .. maybe it's the"blank" neck, or the aggressive blending. Meh. This is not finished, I had pretty much given up on it last year, so I'm just happy to give it another go.

So I spent the afternoon on this. Before today, my face was a beige blob. I'm pretty happy about this, but for some reason I'm all teary - that hasn't happened in a long time lol - oil paint on Birch panel , 36" x 24"

I'm starting another odd project - if you're a gamer and familiar with a certain scary game you might recognize this. It's very early stages, and that smear on the left is from when I pressed too hard with my posca pen. Even with gridding this was a challenge. Fingers crossed it works out.

Two works-in-progress - definitely not finished. Both are 4.75" square panels, painted in oil. I'm really enjoying the smaller size, they're definitely harder on the eyes to work on lol - but less daunting, and easier to finish. Also, I swear, in person, they look much better.

I now have a second 3D printer, a "gift" (a small cash exchange, but worth it) from a friend who didn't want it any more because it took up too much space. My first proper print (on this printer), something I sculpted in Nomad Sculpt on my iPad last summer. Painting soon.

First coat, first painting in quite a while. I legitimately can't remember when I did my last painting - last year? Happy with the progress so far, this is literally an undercoat, I now have to wait for it to dry (oil paint on Birch panel, copy of a Rembrandt painting I've always kind of liked)

This is why you don't do your under sketching with graphite. I covered it with an acrylic gloss gel medium which will keep the pencil from bleeding into the paint, but it still looks monstrous lol.

And this, my friends, is how I check to make sure I haven't left any patches after I've shaved my head. I don't need no man. I mean, sure, I'd like one, but I don't need one.

The rest of Canada, even our Premiere, Doug Ford, may hate Toronto, the city where I've lived for the last 33 years, but I *finally* love it and can't imagine living anywhere else.

(I'm in Canada). At the Dollarama this 1L Pepsi Zero is $1.25. at most grocery and convenience stores, this same size is between $2.79 and $3.79. 700ml size at Dollarama is $1.50. Zero logic. Anywhere. Tell me again that prices aren't arbitrarily decided.

something i threw together (same as before, but with more) using Adobe's Project Neo Beta.
March 6, 2025 at 3:41 AM
oh, and after i did the spinning person in Adobe's Project Neo, I did this. I was more experimental and decided to go bigger. This is not complete, eventually it will be fully furnished.

took one of the many car models i started in Blender but got stuck somewhere with (last year) and since I've been using Blender3D more frequently/regularly for the past couple of months, I figured I'd try some stuff. It may not look like much, but this was literally a blob an hour ago. Yay creases!

playing with Adobe's Project Neo (beta). So much fun, and pretty intuitive.

Stop staring at me .

So it would appear my flesh ever pair or transition lenses work. Yay!

I no longer stay up to date on the news, and as such, I am so much less stressed because of it. Here is a tilable image of some jellyfish I made using Adobe Firefly.

I've spent the last few days in a flurry of quasi-productivity - 3D modelling AND painting, completely rearranging my entire apartment (including disassembling and reassembling two desks), but MOST importantly, I shaved my moustache, despite fears that I'd look older. I'm good with the results.

I love my shoes. I always feel like a boss when I wear them.

The lobby in the building where I work. Actually it's one of three lobbies, but this is the one I use. I just like chairs and the overall ambiance...? Can't word today, sorry .

So I 3D printed that cat I made (in Blender3D) for my mother. Not sure what to do with it now... Ok fine I know exactly what to do with it - paint it!
