Its a pleasure to watch him bat, though I was hoping for a wicket to fall so that Williamson would have an opportunity to add some more runs on his tally, abd close in on 10k. I think we're going to declare before that happens at this rate

My late grandfather was a supporter of the yellow-eyed penguin trust, and passed his passion on to me at a young age. Hoiho have always held a special place for me since!

I think based on the year by the signature it might be a purchased piece (it was created in 2024). Either way, a stunning gift. And one that has a bit more emotional significance than may have been anticipated!

Will keep that in mind! A good idea to keep track of glasses, and should an unfortunate breakage happen, you aren't left with an odd numbered set!

Three options that came to mind:
1) 2010, when NZ secret Santa began
2) 1979 for the first recorded secret Santa giving
3) 270, supposed birth year of Saint Nicholas, the origin of Santa

We had such healthy bowlers for such a long time (Boult, Southee, Wagner). Now seems like they just can't catch a break

First one had no packaging left at all, second didn't have any in the right size (only very small or very large), but third one had the stuff!

Strong contenders. Personally reckon Steak and Cheese > Mince and Cheese.

God I miss real pies, now that I'm a well behaved coeliac.

As a Kiwi the best I've ever had was steak, bacon, mushroom and cheese, with a stout based gravy.

I don't particularly watch much media of either film or TV. Watch mostly catch each season of Dr Who, and Rugby and cricket matches. Watch a fair bit of Youtube across gaming (Runescape primarily), or hobby channels like Scott Brown Carpentry. #SecretsantaAoNZ

As for books, I'm a big fan of Terry Pratchett, with a nearly complete set of Discworld, JRR Tolkien, Frank Herbert, Frederick Forsythe fill much of the rest of the shelf #SecretsantaAoNZ

Yeah, was a one time occurrence seemingly. Hopefully doesn't pop up again!

Aah, I forget that replies get filtered on the pages and need to quote post on here for them to show up better, as I mostly read and like, rather than post!

It's also a family affair. It's how my wife and I met, and how we met a good number of our close friends

I spend a lot of time volunteering with Scouts Aoteatoa from regular weekly sessions, taking youth camping or tramping, and delivering training courses in practical outdoor skills and leadership for youth and adults.

Currently got a decent collection of Penguin related things - socks, figurines, soft toys, etc.

I also play Magic the Gathering and have a significant collection of cards.
