What’s interesting is since the popularity of Vikings on TV, Norse Paganism has been on the rise as a religious faith. Also, a lot of people don’t realize just how much Christianity borrowed from it. Lastly, even the days of the week are Norse. Today is “Wodin’s Day” or Wednesday.

Of course this will work, just like our strategy did for the 20 years we were present in-country. No heroin to be found on America’s streets in those days, was there? Now we’re no longer there it will be a little more challenging but we’ve totally got this.

Sounds like we’ll have to develop a Megatron to defend against this.

Trying really hard not to break my “no new books” rule but posts like this make it very difficult. A good book on COIN is definitely worth the read. Thanks for recommending it.

I guess you can indict a ham sandwich but not necessarily convict one.

Might have to break my “no new books rule” for this one.

Iron Maiden (with Megadeth and Anthrax) tickets are on sale now. AC/DC and TPR tickets go on sale tomorrow.

That’s pretty good. Took me a minute to get it, though, which made it funnier when I did.

Good point. In retrospect I suppose it’s easy (or perhaps convenient) to forget the war had overwhelming bipartisan support, at least initially. There were dissenters and protestors but I seem to recall they were greatly outnumbered.
