The fit does really say ‘extravagant’, in a way, which suits the character!

I think it kinda depends on the story you want to tell. For example, in the 2004 musical, the gobstopper plot line is cut, and thus Slugworth is cut from the story too. Slugworth is a fun character to have in the story, though! (If not the gobstopper, the fizzy lifting drink works for the plot too)

I love this AU so much! I played Grandpa Joe for a youth production recently and it was a great time.
Random fact: The news reporter in the 2004 version of the musical is named Phineous Trout. Charlie’s friends names in the musical are also the names of other Ronald Dahl characters! (like Matilda!)
