Having been kept inside with an illness recently it was great to get out along the Shotley peninsula today and find 2 Jack Snipe, 2 Common Snipe and 2 Woodcock! Ended with a fun evening watching 2 Little Owls at point blank range.

What a fantastic year its been.

Relaxed time along the suffolk coast today with highlights of Cranes, White-fronted Geese, Caspian Gulls, Yellow-legged Gull and Whooper Swans.

Great day on the Suffolk coast, starting at Minsmere with phenomenal views of Little Auk along with White-rumped Sand, Whooper Swans, Purple Sand, Eider and Bittern. Then finishing at Walberswick where we had Snow Buntings in the dying light, and who doesn't love a murmuration to finish the day.

Fun day around North Norfolk yesterday with highlights of Shore Lark and Pallid Harrier, along with a large supporting cast of Siberian Chiffchaff, Hen Harrier, Velvet Scoter, Eider, Grey Partridge, 3 species of Owl and the showy escaped Black-winged Stilt.

Quick stop at Shotley this evening to see the Velvet Scoter on the Orwell, bonus of Barwit and 5 Cattle Egret aswell as Woodcock and Little Owl on the drive home.

Phenomenal day along the suffolk coast, starting with sea watching at Southwold then Minsmere later on. Highlights of Hoopoe, Little Auk, Arctic Skua, Great Skua, Whooper and Bewicks Swans, and Woodcocks off the sea. Incredible views of the Hoopoe in the late evening sun.
