Where do height preferences in dating come from? In this study, my coauthor and I found that for Asian American women, internalized racism -> taller minimum acceptable dating height in men. Furthermore, a white dating preference -> taller ideal dating height in men.

Race and dating, what's that about? In this new pub, my research team investigated the psychological and sociocultural factors that promote queer Asian American men to date one another - as well as the consequences of doing so. Nuanced strengths-based findings prevail!

My amazing research assistant Garden Oluwakemi from UMD created a couple of graphics summarizing the study's themes/primary findings. These showcase the role of location, social support, self-reflection, and active resistance in promoting self-love among QAAM. Yay for strengths!

New pub! Queer Asian American men face racism in the gay community, but what helps us resist it? This qualitative study used a strengths-based approach and interviewed 20 QAAM who endorsed loving themselves regardless of what white men think of them. psycnet.apa.org/doi/10.1037/...
