It’s always funny to see how robust Evil Functionalism is. This is the thesis that literally anything that happens must ultimately serve the interests of “the system” through some perverse feedback loop. Presented as radical critique, it is just Panglossian Functionalism with the polarity reversed.

We just published this open access review paper on SES inequality in family formation and dissolution in Central and Eastern Europe.
