For actual decades now, I’ve wished they would decide that “James Bond” is just an alias that goes with the 007 designation. Agent retires, takes a civilian ID, voila.

I always get tripped up by Strangelove being based on Peter Bryant’s Red Alert from 1958, which registers in my brain as “Fail Safe.”
