I may have just gotten the greatest compliment on my art, and it was from someone who paid $100 for a digital painting based on a snapshot of her late husband.

The old family farm, based on a fuzzy photo that probably also included my father and uncle playing on the porch. I'm nervous to show my process because it's not as easygoing or straightforward as other artists. I did this over a week of working about 45 minutes at a time.

Not all of my art is digital. I'm looking forward to doing these with my kids this year, even though they are "all grown up" and "too old for this" and "do I have to be out here with family" right up until "you guys made these?" and "how come no one told me this was going to be fun?"

Practicing painting as a performance art, I've set Krita's recorder to 'automatic' so I can see/show my progress in paintings and have some accountability for the extra paint strokes that become wasted time and effort.

After sleeping on this for-fun piece, I think I know what I want it to become.
