Shutdowns could also be a power delivery issue, in the off chance your old psu is a lot smaller or has a lower rating, particularly if you are running a multi gpu setup, the peek power draw can trip it if you are below 1250-1400w and have a modern cpu as well.

I'm curious if you have tried on solid glass objects? it feels like the more solid the object the less caustics I get and I can't seem to force it. Also curious if you had to fiddle a lot with the caustic roughness setting to get them sharper? all feels a little odd to control.

I will see if get some time to test this later today, thanks for the heads up!

certainly noisy, but the caustics themselves look great! And that is all from just turning on caustics in the shader/light? this is materialX yes?

Yeah nice! it looks great honestly, last time I tried it was a sad cry from the results of octane/RS/corona etc, but this makes me excited. The lack of indirect guiding on XPU is still a thing right? I remember something about it also not being "easy" or "possible". Anyway, post more! <3 caustics

Oh snap! you denoising this or is that raw Karma? I didn't realize karma did proper caustics yet? Or is there trickery happening here :P
