I’m not sure that’s true. It then gets spit out into a breathless, hysterical, minute by minute transfer window of political commentary. People in general understand the briefings and who does them. The coverage then becomes hysterical. It’s all sports and showbiz.

So they say. Every hour. Every day. Every minute. Over and over and over again. There is no budget. It’s all gossip. The transfer window.

They could say nothing, do some actual journalism, and report in a considered way. We’re not getting that anywhere.

It could also be true that you’ve all been hysterically reporting gossip for days and days and days. You’re all sports & showbiz reporters now.
