Just out of question, were they end-rhymes (e.g. couplets) or leonine rhymes (with the syllable before the principal caesure rhyming with the line-final syllable)?

From my anecdotal experience, HS counsellors tell students over and over that AP classes aren't a major factor in admissions (in the US) and often don't fulfill college requirements (even when credit is granted). The students often just flat-out don't believe them, they feel it can't be right.
