And as always I really appreciate the support 🙏

Next time I'm in Bristol for work I'd be more than happy to get you a pint! 🍺

I've definitely been looking on this front, but I haven't met with a huge amount of success (though I have found some really cool channels in the process!)

I did sign up to @indiebooktours.bsky.social as you suggested the other day though, their business model seemed really solid.

5/ If anyone else has been trying to find ARC readers, what have you done differently? Any tips?

/4 Booksprout is a cheap flat subscription, but so far I haven't seen much success on the platform, and the views have gradually petered out over time.

Booksiren is the same, but their thing is they will find you readers, and charge you a bit more for each one. (Not doing so well with that!)

/3 Moneywise, Netgalley is by far the most expensive (and the highest reading applicants accordingly) but thankfully I’ve been using the Victory Editing co-op for a greatly reduced price. I highly recommend them as they’ve been super helpful!

/2 FYI I haven’t seen any feedback off of these just yet, and I don’t know if I will, but I wanted to give this a try for future releases. But I have only been on these services since the beginning of the month, and The Ruined is ~550 pages, so there’s plenty of time for that.

I REALLY didn't gel with The Three Body Problem, despite all its hype. I think it might have been an issue with the translation, but I found the writing jarringly poor and the characters paper thin.

My favorite parts were actually the footnotes and bits set in Mao-era China, not the scifi!

Some great suggestions, thank you!

I would love to!

I often fantasise about pausing time and reading every book on my TBR in a second flat.

Still working on the pausing time part!

Also I saw on your latest video that you have a May birthday, too - so happy belated birthday!
