Pointing out that THEY did it first isn't pointing out hypocrisy. It is JOINING their hypocrisy.

No. The German people were SILENT in the face of Nazi violence. They shrugged it off & excused it as "just the way it is".

But HAD THEY stood up in protest against the Nazis in any significant numbers, the Nazi government would have collapsed.

They only ever held at most 1/3 of the Reichstag.

When we give in to hate and turn to violence to solve our differences, Democracy dies. Liberty dies. Freedom dies.

Don't give up on Democracy.

If more people had stood up and spoken out against their violence & hatred their government WOULDN'T have been able to stand.

If more people had condemned Nazi violence EARLIER and REJECTED his dehumanization of Jews and others, it might have.

It was never a foregone conclusion that the Nazis would take power.

Good people were silent & did nothing to stand up to the violence and hatred of the Nazi Party.

Because WE MUST BE BETTER than the MAGA cultists who praise Jesus on one hand and excuse murder on the other.
