Hello all! I’ve started a writing project called, “A Year Without Fear,” and I want to invite you to follow it and be engaged with other folks trying to live fully, not allowing fear to stand in the way.

Did my second automatic drawing practice today. So many roadblocks pop up in my head. Afterwards I looked at it and discounted it as stupid. But it isn’t. It’s just change. It’s finding a door to my creative self. The real key will be to just keep doing it. Everyday.

Was a cool exercise. I could really tell as my brain started to take hold and the lines changed from free to directed by thought. I’m going to try and do one everyday. I often show everything I do, but goi g to keep these private for now. An exercise to free myself, not a way to get likes. 2/2

Started a drawing exercise today. A meditation of counting backward from 100 down to 1 to focus my mind, and then free draw with one pencil until I feel my mi d start trying to make sense of it. Then, a second countdown from 50 to 1, and free draw with a different pencil. 1/1

Visited the Museum of Modern Art here in Mexico City today and was just blown away. One of my most affecting museum visits ever. In the US. We are taught so little truth about Mexico and it’s history and even less about its Art. A real shame.

The electric poll is on the north western corner of our property. I *hated* it at first. I was sure I’d never get comfortable seeing it. But over time, it doesn’t bother me at all.

So, I logged off of FB and Insta for a week. Day one of the “off” time was really hard. I found myself every few minutes clicking the button for one or the other app. Yesterday was day 2. That got a little better. I realize I’m not engaged with enough folks here so looking for new BlueSky friends.

The sky this morning here in Vallarta. So lovely. I often think of clouds being about color and shape (as an artist), but this morning I’m thinking about them as texture.
