I'm surprised you're surprised. This has long been on the cards. It was WAY more likely for ITV to cutback the soaps than BBC cutback EastEnders. An hour of soap each night between 8 & 9 makes so much more sense. Next moves to fix Corrie - broader cast age, less sensationalism and more humour.
