Good question! You can scan them and store them digitally and then make sure the originals are stable for long term storage. I'd definitely look into having a few shows locally and then hopefully find an entity that is agreeable to accept them (or part of them) for long term storage/research.

Sometimes they just do whatever they can to tie in that fireline break down to mineral soil so the fire doesn't jump the line! The air support team could pull him out safely at the last moment (hopefully!) or make retardant drops to help him out! I'm glad my wildfire fighting days are behind me!
