I write about Los Angeles travel, art, and food. I love small businesses.
Before I start my Monday is for Los Angeles Art theme, I wanted to say how inspired I am by everyone who is looking at alternatives to corporations and voting with their dollars.
Supporting small businesses has been at the heart of my project....

If you only get two things from this account, I want it to be this:
How to get out of your house and explore Los Angeles
How to vote with your dollars by supporting local businesses.

I spent my 19 year LA anniversary putting together a comprehensive list of resources for wildfire relief. I love this city. Find ways to donate and support those supporting others.

Several of Los Angeles businesses are offering food, a place to charge your devices, and rest.

Los Angeles resolutions: Read more about Los Angeles.

This is a great book pairing.
First Read: Laurel Canyon by Michael Walker
Then Read: We've Got The Neutron Bomb by Marc Spitz and Brendan Mullen

Monday is for Museums, Art, Galleries and calls for artists.

This is the last week to see Breath(e) at the Hammer. This is part of PST and explores the changing climate through art.
Note: there are live bees as part of a installation piece in case allergies

Tuesday is for travel.

Now is the best time to be in Los Angeles. This is when a large number of our population leaves the city for the holidays. It is the best time to get those hard-to-get restaurant reservations, see exhibits with fewer people, and the end of the year has a series of low tides.

Monday is for Art, Artists, Museums, and calls for artists.

If you need any more reasons to love the @lapubliclibrary.bsky.social, they have a Creator in Residence Program.
It isn't medium-specific and is a $20K stipend. Applications are open now.

I'm Kristen. I write about Los Angeles, featuring things that make it a unique place. I highlight small businesses and give dozens of ideas for exploring this multi-layered city.
I am also a travel agent (I think of myself more of a travel curator) who writes about art & food.

I just found out that one of my favorite artists Ericka Lopez has an exhibit on view at the University of Michigan until Friday. Lopez is a blind artist that encourages you to touch her art. She places beads and other trinkets for you to discover with your hands.
