Hopefully a new arcane deck pops up

Is it possible for layers to be replaced by timestamps, or at least have timestamps prioritized over layers most of the time. I think it would cause the results to be a lot more intuitive. (2/2)

Who will design tribrid mana?

But it wasn't purely weak when it came out, a 4/1 for 2 was good stats when it came out. Just a hefty downside, its more of a one with nothing type card, than an actual bad card, like Bombard. Bad cards can still exist, they just shouldn't take up the majority of a pack.

No you don't, you make cards power level equivalent. Then every set is exciting while not making the others bad. Edge of eternities is pretty good in this respect, only about 20% of the uncommons are too bad and 50% of the commons, which is good compared to other sets, but still too high.

I don't want powercreep, I just want them to be powerlevel equivalent, or even slightly below. Just not commons that are miles below.

The first two points defend what people call "bulk rares", they do not defend the really really bad cards that are in the majority of packs. Just because the cards aren't likely see tournament play, doesn't mean they can't be interesting. Okk is a success, Mahamoti Djinn is a failure.

Would mortis dogs and dandan be any less special if they were a bit stronger? They also aren't the kinds of cards Im talking about, I'm talking about Imbossible inferno, Finch formation, Daring mechanic, etc. Im talking about the really really bad cards that make up the majority of packs.

Also I believe the whole "Bad cards are bad so new players can realize cards are bad" thing was debunked a while ago by MaRo. Plus it just doesn't make sense, oh wow a new player can discover their collection is trash, yay?
July 19, 2025 at 3:24 AM
Those are old and out of date. When I say bad cards, I don't mean Lions eye diamond and One with nothing. Cards with potential but either end up being good or bad. I mean cards where no attempt to make them good was made. Like Cautious survivor or Auxiliary boosters.

Limited does not have to be low powered, every card could be uncommon or rare powered, and limited would be the same.
July 19, 2025 at 3:08 AM
Even if the reason is just for very casual players to have weaker collections so that they are more excited by new sets, it would be nice to have confirmation. Because the reason isn't for limited, limited can be any powerlevel.
July 18, 2025 at 9:26 PM
It would be nice to know in a drive to work why every set has about half the commons unplayable in any way at all, at least the other half of them are barely playable by having a unique rate for its combination of effects.

Could we have a dredgless dredge mechanic? Basically Dredge 0
July 13, 2025 at 7:03 PM
On the topic of this, is there ever a moment exploratory design chooses a mechanic, designates it as a bad mechanic, and that vision design doesn't need to look at it, but then vision design does and adds it to the set?

Oh I remember this, I think it was split cards
June 26, 2025 at 2:14 AM
But there is no format for both creatures and planeswalkers as your commander
June 21, 2025 at 9:38 PM
You can't have creatures as your commander in oathbreaker. They are different formats.
June 21, 2025 at 3:29 PM
Will we see uncommon planeswalkers again?
May 7, 2025 at 2:06 AM
What about bracket 2 but you have a card or two that counts as MLD? Like Worldfire. Its not good in higher brackets, but it can't be in the lower ones because it counts as MLD. I think there should be a way to differentiate salt from powerlevel.
