Disabled woman trying to get back into art

Anyway reminder that solidarity is not transactional, and giving into eugenics is, among other things - deeply embarrassing.

With enough time and luck, disability is coming for all of us. Do yourself a favour and start dealing with the hole in your politics now 💕

You can have free speech without using #Ableist slurs. It’s hard enough being #Disabled without people vocalising hatred for #Disability by using derogatory/mocking language or using disability terms to mock the abled. Freedom of speech is important but it’s not freedom to hate. Choose to be kind 😎

Related: there are a LOT of artists with disabilities who have major ethical objections to AI and resent being used as a rhetorical human shield for thievery

Yall real silent about disability injustices because most of you don’t see disability as a thing that can happen to you.

We are “aww those poor people”. Meanwhile disability can happen to anyone at any moment and those injustices you ignored? They become your experiences too

When we tell nondisabled people to examine their ableism, *this is the work you refuse to do*, because “it’s not the r word, get over it.”

No, it’s just a constant devaluation of our lives, dignity, and needs, and IT BLEEDS INTO PUBLIC OPINION.

No, I’m not gonna get over it.

Really need more of the people who are fighting against fascism to understand that disability justice is absolutely, axiomatically fundamental to that fight.
